Ben Affleck and Anne Hathaway's 'The Last Thing He Wanted' Is Netflix's New Thriller
From the director of ‘Mudbound.’
Mudbound director Dee Rees has returned with another Netflix film, The Last Thing He Wanted, which is poised to debut next week at Sundance Film Festival, now has an official trailer.
Based on the Joan Didion novel of the same name, the footage above features Journalist and single mother Elena McMahon (Anne Hathaway) investigating Contra activity in Central America. When her coverage gets censored, her acerbic father (Willem Dafoe) falls ill and leaves her a series of unfinished and unsavory arms deals in the same location, revealing himself as a major player in the story she’s trying to break. Now that she’s inherited a position as an arms dealer, she must avoid a U.S. state official (Ben Affleck) she knows from the States and decide if her life back home is what she really wants.
Rosie Perez and Toby Jones also star in the new thriller, which premieres January 27 and arrives on Netflix on February 21.
Check out the trailer above, and in case you missed it, an anime film of The Witcher is coming to Netflix.
