After presenting its colorful and textural Spring/Summer 2020 collection at Tokyo Fashion Week last year, Children of the Discordance returns with a more subdued collection for the Fall/Winter 2020 season. “Protect Archive” showcases designer Hideaki Shikama’s latest range of patterned jackets, shirts, trousers and hats that reflect global fabrics and inspirations.
Shikama experiments with his signature bandana styling in new ways: a coat with interior straps and matching pants arrive in two reworked bandana patterns, while bucket hats and a vest are also constructed from this recognizable fabric. Like its previous Fall/Winter 2019 collection, the range of apparel features paisley motifs and graffiti fonts, but with a larger emphasis on fabrics and designs from other world cultures. Highlights of the collection include an admiral-style jacket emblazoned with antlers on its front, a patchwork pullover with a zip-up front and a sweater sporting a large wolf graphic on its back.
