LEGO Captures the Spirit of Lunar New Year With Lion Dance & Temple Fair Sets
Featuring minifigures inspired by the Year of the Rat.

LEGO is celebrating the Lunar New Year this season with the release of its latest design collection, this time around centering around the Year of the Rat.
The 2020 Chinese New Year sets include a Lion Dance and Traditional Temple Fair. The first offering features five small lion figurines and a percussionists’ stage that includes a drumming function, as well as a Temple Gate that sports specially-designed LEGO tiles featuring traditional patterns.
LEGO’s Lion Dance set also comes paired with eight mini-figures including lion dancers and a man in a rat costume, while the red “Best Wishes” scroll, red orb, cabbage, calligraphy brush, and a rocket firework complete the set. For its take on a Traditional Temple Fair, LEGO recreates an authentic market with stalls that sell barbecue dishes, candy, toys, vases and dough figurines, and includes 14 minifigures.
In true LEGO traditional, the sets are about fun, creation and education more than anything else. As a result, LEGO has ensured that the kits are functional, with its lions from the Lion Dance set featuring manually-mechanical mouths that can open and close, and a body that can be positioned to pose however you desire.
