Celebrating the science station’s more than 20 years of operation.
After putting together a 3,898-piece model of Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium, LEGO has now prepared an official kit for the International Space Station. Celebrating the science station’s more than 20 years of operation, the scale model was suggested and by LEGO’s Ideas platform, which crowdsources ideas from the LEGO fan community.
Comprised of 864 pieces, is a full representation of the orbital platform complete with large fan solar power arrays, deployable satellite and robotic Canadarm. The docking station found on the ISS kit can be attached to the space shuttle and cargo capsule included. Additionally, the kit comes with two astronaut Minifigures that can play out any repairs that need to be made on the representation of the collaborative effort between NASA, Russia’s Roscosmos, Europe’s ESA and Canada’s CSA.
Priced at $70 USD, the LEGO International Space Station Kit will be available in-stores and lego.com starting in February.
