ERL Delivers Expansive Beachy Collection for FW20
Eli Russell Linnetz’s eponymous line introduces a wide array of easygoing Californian layers.
With its first SSENSE-exclusive capsule a success, ERL‘s follow-up range is extra-ambitious, expanding the label’s output without losing site of the Californian waves that inspire it. Directed by Eli Russell Linnetz, the line is rich with accessible, slacker-friendly staples, encompassing everything from puffer jackets to striped boxers.
Linnetz cut his teeth as a creative director for a vast array of celebrities, ranging from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to Lady Gaga, who Linnetz recently worked with to design her Las Vegas show. First supported by Dover Street Market (Linnetz previously partnered with COMME des GARÇONS and launched ERL with DSM LA in 2018), Linnetz is prepping an expansive range of genderless goods.
Ranging from branded boxers to colorful knitwear, the new ERL line is all-inclusive, producing a complete wardrobe of wearables. Furry hats, shaped puffers, elastic trousers and shorts sporting delicate wave appliqué all appear in the Fall/Winter 2020 range, abetted by cozy textiles like wide-wale corduroy and washed cottons for extra comfort. A slew of accessories, including knit gloves and painted faux-crocodile belts, lend the looks an everything-including-the-kitchen-sink appeal, while vintage-indebted items like “VENICE BEACH” football shirts and frayed cotton flannel shirts reinforce the effortlessly laid-back appeal.
Having made a splash with industry insiders by way of a showroom at Paris Fashion Week, ERL is slated to arrive at Dover Street Market outposts later this year as well as HBX.
Most recently, DSM prepped for Lunar New Year with a wide array of collaborative rat-themed goods.
