After announcing a bevy of 2020 tour dates across Europe and North America late last year atop of the release of their loose single “Tongue Kissing,” Little Dragon is back, announcing a brand new album titled New Me, Same Us. To commemorate the news, the Swedish band has released the project’s lead single, “Hold On.”

Continuing to exude their post-genre sound — which calls on a range of influences from house music to electronic, synth-pop, R&B, disco, and more — “Hold On” is about as characteristic as it gets for Little Dragon. “It started out as a silk house track,” the band explained via press release.” “It’s a simple groove that makes us dance.” Vocalist Yukimi Nagan brings her polymorphic vocals forth over the lush instrumental, which sees members Håkan Wirenstarnd and Fredrik Wallin on keyboards and bass respectively and Erik Bodin on drums and percussion.

The band also shared a bit about the forthcoming album:

This album has been the most collaborative for us yet. Which might sound weird considering we’ve been making music together for all these years, but we worked hard at being honest, finding the courage to let go of our egos and be pieces of something bigger. We are all on our own personal journeys, full of change, yet still we stand united with stories we believe in, that make us who we are.

You can stream “Hold On” below. New Me, Same Us arrives physically and digitally on March 27 via Ninja Tune.
