Doe Boy Returns to East Cleveland for 'Streetz Need Me 2' Standout "Beezy E" Video

A fitting homage to legendary NWA member Eazy-E.

After linking with Future for the “Most Wanted” video back in October and the release of his major studio project Streetz Need Me 2 late last month, Doe Boy returns to East Cleveland for his new “Beezy E” music video. Set around his childhood block, Doe Boy is flanked by friends and family and a red SS Impala while channeling Eazy-E’s iconic “Boyz In The Hood” verse. This is hardly the first time that a Cleveland artist has stressed the “West” portion of the city’s Midwest geographical standing (Bone Thugs-n-Harmony immediately comes to mind) and Kenny Beats makes the vintage West Coast vibe even easier thanks to warped piano keys and a sound bank of samples straight from the early 90s.

Doe Boy has been experimenting with new sounds throughout the past year, as the Atlanta-based Freebandz signee also collaborated with Parisian producer Brodinski for “Gang”. “I recorded ["Gang"] in Atlanta with Doe Boy a while ago now but I think he’s been evolving as one of the most interesting and solid street artists in recent years,” Brodinski explained. “Originally from Ohio, he’s been affiliated with Freebandz and been cultivating his unique style even more recently. I’m honored to have him on the project, that’s also why I wanted to bring him into some new territories and sounds with ‘Gang’.”

Streetz Need Me 2 features a star-studded cast ranging from Future, YG, Young Thug, Gunna and even an interlude by Mike Epps. For more, revisit our latest Conversations With: Kenny Beats episode where he talks about his incredible 2019 run, collaborating with 03 Greedo and more.
