Trentemøller & Warpaint's Jenny Lee Collide on Sublime New Single "Try A Little"
Featuring a music video from acclaimed filmmaker Thomas McMahan.
Danish electronica producer Trentemøller has teamed up alongside Warpaint vocalist and bassist Jenny Lee for a sublime new cut entitled “Try A Little.” The new single arrives just weeks before the producer’s latest album, Obverse, set to arrive later this month via his own label, In My Room.
Continuing with his expansive discography, the latest cut gives audiences familiar with Trentemøller a taste of the genre-defining work he’s known for. This time, the producer has opted for a more punk and indie vibe, whereby heavily textured instrumentation and electronic accompaniments effectively give Lee the spotlight to billow out her rock-tinged vocals. The pairing results in a rather eclectic contrast between the real and the artificial, whereby Lee’s vocals converge alongside Trentemøller’s mechanic style. On top of the single, experimental filmmaker and two-time Emmy Award-winning animator Thomas McMahan has presented a glitch-heavy visual that is filled with a bevy of distorted edits.
You can listen to “Try A Little” above. Trentemøller’s Obverse arrives on September 27.
