Seiko Now Offers Spring Drive Movement for Presage Line of Watches

Seiko‘s Presage line of watches — a watch line that mixes traditional Japanese craft with watchmaking — has just announced that a new Presage Prestige line will be receiving the caliber 5R65 Spring Drive movement.

While the 5R65 is not as finished as the big brother GS 9R65 movement, the 5R65 does offer similar accuracy of ±1 second per day versus Grand Seiko’s ±0.5 seconds per day. The new line of Presage Spring Drive watches will feature a 40mm “Super Hard” case, an enamel dial with Arabic numbers, a power reserve of 72 hours, and will be available this October for $4,500 USD.
