Sources have confirmed that Will Poulter is joining Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings series as one of its lead characters. While the nature of his role is yet to be revealed, The Black Mirror: Bandersnatch star is the second confirmed actor to helm a role after Australian actress Markella Kavenagh.

The TV adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved fantasy book series explores Middle-earth before The Fellowship of the Ring, but will not be connected to The Silmarillion and the Third Age. Season one will cover the Second Age, touching on the rise and fall of Sauron along with the creation of the Ring of Power, and will reportedly span 20 episodes long.

Poulter adds this credential to an already impressive list, starring in Ari Aster’s Midsommar, The Maze Runner franchise, The Revenant alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and the comedy flick We’re the Millers.

In other entertainment news, a premiere date for HBO’s Watchmen has been set.
