After serving up a sophisticated New Balance 577, international boutique Sneakersnstuff has prepared something special for its 20th anniversary. As mentioned on episode 56 of our podcast, co-founder Erik Fagerlind has selected one of his favorite silhouettes — the Nike Air Max Tailwind — to receive a thematic upgrade in time for the celebration.

Little can be seen of the retro runner, though the bright tongue is unmistakable. A swath of yellow splits the white and grey panels on either side, with embroidered text that reads “20th Anniversary Tailwind IV Since 1999.” Tonal detailing is realized on both sides, made lush by premium materials like hairy suede and hardy nubuck. A black Swoosh at the toe stands in stark contrast to the rest of the design, with metallic hits accenting the lateral side stripes.

According to Fagerlind, fans can expect to see Sneakersnstuff’s 20th anniversary Nike Air Max Tailwind 4 receive wide release later this year.

Nike has more collaborative drops on the horizon, including special sneakers for Skepta and John Elliott.
