Snoop Dogg Honors Suge Knight on New Single "Let Bygone Be Bygones"
Our latest taste of ‘I Wanna Thank Me.’
One week after linking up with Swizz Beatz for a new visual and single in support of his forthcoming I Wanna Thank Me LP, “Countdown,” Snoop Dogg is back with another record off his next studio album. This time around, Snoop Dogg is honoring Suge Knight and looking back at the Death Row icon’s impact on the West Coast rap game for a DJ Battlecat-produced record titled “Let Bygones Be Bygones.”
“Cuz did that, took Death Row to the top, my boys did that / Caught that case, came out safe, Bloods did that (Suwoop) / So through the ups and the downs / Real ones know not to kick n***as when they down,” Snoop Dogg raps on “Let Bygones Be Bygones,” spitting bars about Suge Knight’s long list of accolades and historic run in hip-hop, as well as referencing his current trials and tribulations. “Especially when we was down, that n***a picked n***as up / Gangbang on NY stages, hit n***as up (Death Row) / Y’all remember that? (Yup) / Yeah, he did some bullshit, I’m admitting that / But coming at a real Crip like he ain’t one / Especially when he help f*cking make one / On the dead homies, I was at the motherf*cking top / When I hit my n***a up and said, ‘You need to grab ‘Pac’ / Told Daz, ‘Hook him up,’ brought straight up out the box.”
