Following the unconventional COTODAMA collaboration, Saint Laurent Paris has another surprising release on its hands. This time, the luxury label has introduced a special flip-flop, designed by summer footwear specialist Havaianas.
The Brazilian footwear label most famous for its easygoing flip-flop thong sandals, Havaianashas worked with luxury labels like Manolo Blahnik and Simone Rocha before, but never has the result been quite so utilitarian nor widely available. Saint Laurent has remixed the classic beach staple with a branded and zebra-printed rubber sole (described by SLP as “a timless pattern”) and black thong but otherwise the simple shoe’s core facets is left intact. Though the $65 USd price tag is significantly lower than comparable luxury flip-flops, it’s still a far cry from Havaianas’ usual sub-$20 USD retail cost.
The Havaianas flip-flops are currently available for pre-order in both men’s and women’s sizes on Saint Laurent’s website and exclusively at Saint Laurent Rive Droite in Paris and Los Angeles.
Most recently, the Rive Droite stores hosted a bevy of art and furniture from a variety of big names.
