Nike's Air Max 98 SE Receives Tonal Inside-Out Treatment
Featuring an inverted tongue and reversed “AIR” branding.

Following the release of Nike‘s inside-out Air Max 1 earlier this month, the Swoosh has returned to the drawing board and has now dropped the Air Max 98 SE also sporting a reversed aesthetic.
Similar to its AM1 sibling, the inside-out AM98 sports a tonal upper made of the palette “Wolf Grey/Gunsmoke/Black/Phantom.” Like the AM1, it also sports a clear Air bubble unit, however for the AM98 it encompasses the entirety of the midsole true to its retro design.
As this pair is inside-out, the panels overlay each other more drastically and offer a deeper level of contrast between each layer. As a result, the mixture of suede, mesh, and embroidered textiles are distinctly sectioned for an ultra-clean finish. Rounding off the Air Max 98 is a size tag tongue patch, reversed “AIR” branding on the lateral rear-quarter and 3M piping around the entire mid-section of the shoe. The traditional tongue tab is subsequently placed on the inside, staying true to its flipped form.
