Josh Kalis’ signature sneaker receives fashion-forward makeovers.
monkey time continues to mine ’90s inspiration for its latest special release, linking with DC Shoes for a duo of bespoke Kalis silhouettes. Offered in two contrasting makeups, the iconic skate shoe is remixed with plush textiles and thoughtful accents.
Recently toyed with by fellow Japanese fashion juggernaut BEAMS, monkey time’s take on the Kalis silhouette is somewhat more understated. Black and white iterations both sport tonal paneling and panels of tumbled leather and sturdy nubuck with a translucent rubber guard wrapped around the toe. Though the details vary on either silhouette — the white variant sports grey, black and safety yellow accents, while the black shoe is nearly single-toned — each colorway comes with two sets of dramatically different laces.
