New Trailer for All Elite Wrestling Announces TNT Debut
The first wrestling program on the network since ‘WCW’s Monday Nitro’ in 2001.
All Elite Wrestling has found its home at TNT, and as such, the network has dropped a new trailer announcing the upcoming two-hour weekly show. AEW will be airing on primetime cable every Wednesday beginning October 2 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., two days before WWE‘s first SmackDown Live premieres on Fox.
This marks the first time a wrestling show has aired on TNT since the last installment of WCW’s Monday Nitro on March 26, 2001. “AEW features a world-class roster of diverse male and female wrestlers, giving fans a new wrestling experience for the first time in 20 years,” according to the press release. It continues:
“Founded by President and CEO Tony Khan, AEW is headlined by Cody & Brandi Rhodes, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley. The roster is also filled with incredibly skilled competitors including Nyla Rose, Awesome Kong, Dustin Rhodes, Jungle Boy, Dr. Britt Baker, MJF and SCU. In addition to being in-ring talent, Cody, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega also serve as EVPs with Brandi Rhodes serving as Chief Brand Officer. Renowned commentator Jim Ross has also joined the league.”
The promotion has had three live shows since the brand launched in January. Its next one, All Out, is set for August 31 at the Sears Centre in Chicago.
