Big Sean Doesn't Hold Back for New Single “Overtime”
The track is produced by Hit-Boy, Key Wane, and Milo.
Big Sean makes his return with “Overtime,” his first solo single since 2017 when he released his album I Decided and his Metro Boomin-collaborative project Double or Nothing. “Overtime” is produced by Hit-Boy, Key Wane, and Milo. The record serves as a loose single for Sean who raps that he’s currently working on his next album.
The Detriot native premiered the song on Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1 and discussed the origins of the record.
“In a sense, I just been returning to my roots, bro,” he shares. “I’ve just been getting back to having fun with it. You know what I’m saying? At one point I felt like it might have started to become like a burden, or like work, but now it’s just fun. So this is just me having fun bro, expressing myself. It was a time well spent. I never really knew how important it was to take some time for myself and get myself right. And it takes a while so it can take.”
He adds, “That’s something you can’t really put on a time schedule. But you know, throughout that whole time I’ve been working on music so it is good to get it out. It is good for people to just finally see where we are because I got so much just ready for the world. It’s deeper than just putting music out. It’s like I feel like I got a lot to say that a lot of people may not be addressing right now. You know what I’m saying? As far as just emotions and feelings that a lot of people are going through.”
