Back at the start of 2019, we saw SANKUANZ at Paris showcasing its Fall/Winter 2019 collection, with an expansive range of blacked-out garments. This time around, designer Shangguan Zhe has decided to bring more colors to the runway, offering up a wide spectrum of warm-weather palettes for Spring/Summer 2020.

SANKUANZ’ latest SS20 collection is made up of an expansive spread of graffiti, raw denim, paint splatters, houndstooth patterns and bright leopard prints. Ranging from boxy tailored suits to mid-western-inspired denim jackets, featured silhouettes include neon-colored bombers, purple cowboy pants, chore jackets, long coats, blazers, knit sweaters, graphic-emblazoned jeans and a concise range of footwear. The theme of the season is grounded in a mix of grunge references and design elements reflective of American southern gothic, shining a light on SANKUANZ’ creative versatility.

One highlight that sticks out in the assemblage is the latest iteration of the sneaker protectors. Tweaked from the preceding models, the hybrid sandal-sneaker piece comes with a wide front tongue panel comprised of neoprene and leather uppers. Velcro leather straps appear at the sides along with a large strap at the heel that fastens the foot in place. A lime-tinged SANKUANZ patch is sewn at the toe box, while grey branding appears on the midsole. Another highlighted footwear piece is a sleek white sneaker with a black rubber stopper appearing at the toe box. Standout garments include studded denim ensembles scrawled with graffiti motifs, shiny leather suits, embroidered western shirts and blazers, while sleeveless shirts and monochromatic military silhouettes round up the expansive collection.

Take a look at SANKUANZ’ Spring/Summer 2020 collection coming to select retailers like ssense.com in the coming seasons.

Elsewhere at Paris Fashion Week, AMI showcased its progressive SS20 collection.
