Ari Marcopoulos Snaps Stüssy's Staff in Summer '19 Collection for 'GRIND'
The Japanese magazine’s latest seasonal editorial stars the New York Chapter employees.

Japan’s GRIND has long offered editorials of street labels alongside its more conceptual styling efforts, with frequent collaborator Ari Marcopoulos delivering the magazine’s latest Stüssy editorial. Shot on the streets of New York, the imagery sees the staff from Stüssy’s local Chapter store modeling the Summer 2019 collection.
Despite the collection’s rich color, the imagery is realized in black-and-white, creating a moody atmosphere that emphasizes the garments’ distinct cuts and patterns. Louche hoodies and baggy pants reinforce the label’s Californian skate and surf origins, with a new generation of young fans reinterpreting the brand’s heritage on their own terms. Plaids and stripes co-mingle with effortless work shirts and base layers, reinforcing the Stüssy’s signature laid-back attitude.
Shop the Summer 2019 collection on Stüssy’s website, the brand’s global Chapter stores and Dover Street London/Los Angeles.
