Tokyo-based label POLIQUANT has returned with its Spring/Summer 2020 collection, following up its previous Fall/Winter 2019 collection with heavily-modular garments made through a unique technical lens.
Aptly titled “YOU M.E.S.S. ME,” POLIQUANT’s SS20 collection is inspired by Ray Charles‘ hit classic “Mess Around,” which offers up a series of meticulously deconstructed layering pieces that come with a bevy of adjustable compartments. Encompassing the assemblage are various tactical vests, oversized nylon jackets, reconstructed T-shirts as well as earth-toned ensembles.
One standout piece is a light trench coat that can be folded into a fully functional backpack. Complete with taped seams under water-resistant lining, the coat features a large zipper pouch at the back, detailed with reinforced ripstop nylon and D-rings for clasping on the shoulder straps. Other spotlights in the range include the packable vests that can be used as waist bags. Pieces like reworked T-shirts, cropped pants and graphic-emblazoned windbreakers top off the expansive lineup.
Though no official release dates have been confirmed, POLIQUANT’s SS20 “YOU M.E.S.S. ME” collection is expected to arrive in January 2020 at select retailers.
