De’Aaron Fox is only 21 years-old but even with only two seasons with the Sacramento Kings under his belt, he’s proving to be a force to be reckoned with. One could convincingly argue that Fox is one of the major forces behind the Kings’ statistics-defying 2018/19 season. One could also assume that the young point guard is too green for a signature sneaker — technically, they’d be wrong.

Fox took to Instagram to highlight a brand new Air Max 1 silhouette, boasting mismatched panels and oversized “SWIPA” verbiage at the heel. Each shoe’s mudguard is executed in blue- or red-tinged pebbled leather, with hairy black suede taking over the panels closest to the tongue. Mesh and leather spread across the toe, realized in orange on the right sneaker and white on the left. Beige streaks up the tongue, while the stylized “SWIPA” embroidery on the heel is complimented by an “S” logo on the tongue tag, indicative of Fox’s nickname. A series of technical calculations are printed on the insole, a nod to Fox’s past boasts about his impressive math skills.

The Air Max 1 “Swipa” is expected to launch on May 31, keep an eye on Nike’s site for the drop.

Most recently, Nike unleashed the Patta-like Air Max 1 “Fresh Mint.”
