A Closer Look at the Nike Air VaporMax Plus "Work in Progress"
An homage to the city of Paris.
Nike‘s highly-anticipated “On Air” collection is slated to drop this Saturday and contained within the capsule is the Nike Air VaporMax Plus “Work in Progress” dedicated to the city of Paris.
Designed by Lou Matheron of France, the award winning pair utilizes the futuristic Air VaporMax Plus silhouette which has been dressed in light grey tones. Bold hits of yellow are featured on the Swoosh branding found on both the lateral and medial sides along with the “Tn” logo on the back heels. On the design, Matheron states he was inspired by photographs of a courthouse under construction, hence the shoe’s name “Work in Progress.” This branding has also be placed on the tongue tab.
Along with Matheron’s model, the other five designs include an airy Air Max 97 “Shanghai Kaleidoscope” designed by Cash Ru; the vibrant Air Max 97 “London Summer of Love” designed by Jasmine Lasode; the graphic-heavy Nike Air Max 1 “Tokyo Maze” designed by Yuta Takuman; the neon-injected Nike Air Max 97 “Neon Seoul” designed by Gwang Shin; and the “La Mezcla”-inspired Air Max 98 NYC designed by Gabrielle Serrano.
