No-Comply Skateshop and Daniel Johnston are teaming up for a special Vans collection. Celebrating the Austin, Texas-based shop’s 12th anniversary, the visual artist/singer-songwriter is helming two exclusive designs for the Vans Era Pro and the Vans Slip-On Pro.
Laid out on a white canvas, both silhouettes feature Johnston’s distinct doodles from his classic albums, Songs of Pain and Don’t Be Scared. While the Era’s midfoot, heel and tongue are decorated with the illustrations, the Slip-Ons maintain a cleaner finish with patterns placed only on the wear guard and heel. Details for both designs are meticulously crafted down to their marked insoles and outsoles, concluded with No-Comply’s logo tag on the heel. In addition to the shoes, each pair comes with a custom tote bag, bandanna, guitar pick and koozie.
The No-Comply x Daniel Johnston Vans collection is limited to 320 pairs and will drop on March 13, exclusively in-store at No-Comply. With all proceeds going to benefit the Hi, How Are You Project and its aim to create a mainstream dialogue regarding mental health.
In recent Vans news, the brand is paying homage to Japanese craftsmanship with their latest release.
