Tailoring is the name of the game.

For the third release from Random Identities, designer Stefano Pilati puts an emphasis on tailoring. The ready-to-wear label is built off of the designer’s own wardrobe staples — referred to as his archive — and this largely monochromatic collection is no exception. “[Tailoring] is a category intrinsic to the brand due to my experience and my own foundations,” he says. “I did the collection in black: essential, effective and as the last conservative way to not compromise the rigorous formality of wearing ‘no-color’ during the wintertime.”

The 36 debuted looks include blazers, shirts, coats and pants that play with proportion. Though more formal in shape and silhouette, each piece maintains the visual language of the the first and second release.

Keeping in step with the brand pillars set by Pilati from the jump, the line continues its mission to create luxury products at a reasonable price point. Random Identities is available now at SSENSE and Dover Street Market.

Pilati, the former creative director for Saint Laurent and Ermenegildo Zegna, garnered attention last year when he launched Random Identities after a hiatus from fashion. Read about his bold return to the industry.
