A Look at Adsum's Yacht Racing-Inspired SS19 Collection
The range includes a collaborative sneaker with Reebok.
While hockey influenced Adsum‘s Fall/Winter 2018 collection, the Brooklyn-based company has turned to yacht-racing as its source of inspiration for Spring/Summer 2019. The brand drew upon the technical elements of the outdoor sport to inform its mix of casual yet functional pieces.
Adsum classics like work shirts, overdyed hats and graphic T-shirts are refreshed with new pieces such as the mesh-lined UC Jacket, a 3/4 zip popover coated in a durable nylon fabric. A colorblocked anorak addresses the performance side of the range, with details including a split yolk back, reinforced elbows and three-layers of waterproof fabric. The label’s Spinner jacket receives an update for spring with glass fragments woven into the material to emit a reflective look. A saturated color palette of hi-vis yellow, safety orange and bright blue serves as a direct reference to race-day hues, invoking a sporty attitude throughout the collection. Rounding it all out is a collaborative Adsum x Reebok sneaker, which is set to debut this month.
The SS19 assortment releases February 5 at select retailers and on Adsum’s website.
Y-3 has also been fueled by water sports this season, recently introducing GORE-TEX-lined outerwear pieces fit for sailing.
