Watch the First Trailer of Blumhouse's Remake of 'Invisible Man'
“What you can’t see can hurt you.”
Universal has released a trailer for its upcoming standalone remake of the Invisible Man from Blumhouse Productions. Originally, the Universal Monster was supposed to join Universal’s Dark Universe alongside films like Tom Cruise’s The Mummy and a few other monster movies starring Javier Bardem and Johnny Depp that never came to fruition. However, since The Mummy flopped, Universal is going the standalone route for its new monster movies, and the trailer above showcases Elisabeth Moss as protagonist Cecilia Kass.
Helmed by writer-director Leigh Whannell (Upgrade), the film will focus on Cecilia as she escapes her abusive boyfriend (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) one night in an attempt to disappear and begin a new life. Cecilia later finds out her ex has killed himself but steadily begins to suspect he may not be dead at all. From there, she’s gaslighted throughout the course of the film, with people telling her that her ex isn’t stalking her, although he actually is.
Check out the trailer above and catch Invisible Man when it hits theaters February 28, 2020.
