With the holiday season just around the corner, basketball superstar and fashion icon Russell Westbrook and his Jordan Brand sponsor have teamed-up with American clothing brand and retailer Opening Ceremony for a special apparel release.

Marking the first capsule collection in collaboration with Russell Westbrook and Jordan Brand, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon’s Opening Ceremony have reworked athletic silhouettes into modern fall essentials. Standout items include the Oversized Hoodie, which is a fresh update to classic Air Jordan styles. The monochromatic cotton item features dropped shoulders, ribbed cuffs and hem, and is finished off with contrasting neon green drawcords and black logo embroidery. Other items featured in the range include a heavyweight, oversized woven striped overcoat and cropped sweat pant-trouser hybrid, a reversible color blocked track jacket with matching pants, and an oversized drop-shoulder sweatshirt and tee.

“I’ve always loved fashion and the creative process when it comes to designing. When the opportunity came for me and Jordan Brand to collaborate with another brand, Opening Ceremony was a perfect match,” says Westbrook in a press release. “I liked the idea of doing something with bold color patterns and adventurous silhouettes, and I’m excited to see this collection come to life.”

Additionally Opening Ceremony co-founder and creative director Humberto Leon shared, “When Russ and I sat down together to design, it started a creative dialogue and synergy of true collaboration. The resulting collection shows how, together, we reworked our favorite Air Jordan essentials into new garments. We’re looking forward to seeing how the public puts their own spin on these pieces by incorporating them into their daily wardrobes.”

Russell Westbrook’s Opening Ceremony x Jordan Brand Holiday 2019 collection is available now at Opening Ceremony stores in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo as well as openingceremony.com. The capsule will then release over at Nikelab.com and at Nike Lab 21 Mercer and Chicago doors December 5. Prices range from $125 to $395 USD.

For more recent collaborations, BAPE and Pagani drop special capsule to celebrate the Zonda’s 20th anniversary.
