BEAMS Tweaks Polo Ralph Lauren Classics for Vibrant Multi-Colored Essentials

Last week, we saw a few collaborative Polo Bear pieces from Polo Ralph Lauren and BEAMS at Nordstrom’s BEAMS pop-up. Returning for another co-sign, the Japanese imprint and PRL are collaborating once again, this time strictly involving just the two. Featured is a concise series of classic caps and sweaters that have been reworked with bold multi-colored panels.
Coming in three distinct colorways, classic PRL staples have been tweaked asymmetrically — blue, grey, white and red; dark green, blue and burgundy; orange, green, camo and navy. Each crewneck has been embroidered with Polo’s iconic logo at the left and right sleeves as well as the upper left chest. The matching hats for each of the sweaters see a similar color scheme. They’ve been parted into three colors where each section sees the polo horse logo, accented by thinly etched “POLO” branding sewn at the back. One nuance worth noting is that the V-shaped gusset at the collars, normally seen on a PRL crewneck, has been removed from the sweaters for a cleaner look. Other subtleties like all the contrasting horse logo colors that show up on each panel round up the collaborative designs.
The BEAMS x Polo Ralph Lauren 2019 capsule is slated to release on November 16 at all physical BEAMS locations, ranging from $91 – $192 USD.
