With the footwear market’s appetite for retro running silhouettes just as voracious as ever, the New Balance MR530 is set to make a return this December. Debuting in the ’90s, the MR530 — not to be confused with the New Balance 530 — was a high-mileage runner that found favor with weekend warriors and serious runners alike. Now, it’s set to enter the second part of its life cycle as a casual favorite.

Arriving in a bright yellow with black trim, a sleek steel grey with black and yellow accents, a full-on dad style white/navy and a classic black/silver, the MR530’s signature embellishment is its curved overlays. Appearing above the mesh base on the forefoot, midfoot and heel, these synthetic strips add texture and give off an air of speed that’s inherently ’90s. New Balance branding is present on the tongue and lateral/medial quarters, while a 530 hit graces the rear half. Down below an ABZORB midsole with a plastic midfoot shank provides support and cushioning in equal measures.

All four colorways are set to arrive at NB retailers like Overkill on December 2. The MSRP for each pair is set at €100 EUR (approximately $110 USD).

Elsewhere in the world of New Balance, the brand just released a made-in-the-USA burgundy and navy take on the popular 990v5.
