Medicom Toy & UNDERCOVER Channel Subversive Graphics With New BE@RBRICKs
Coming in two distinctive colorways.
Shortly after unveiling its Vienna Philharmonic figures, Medicom Toy has returned with a new set of BE@RBRICKS, this time collaborating with UNDERCOVER. The figures come in two distinctive colorways that riff off UNDERCOVER’s iconic bear print — one in red and one glossed with a geometric pattern.
The former is kept relatively minimal in a bright red colorway, contrasted by crisp white accents. Apart from its ears and nose, prominent details on the head have been left blank, except a thick white bar placed across the eyes. Below, UNDERCOVER’s “U” logo is placed over the body, while the rest of the figure has been untouched. The next piece is glossed in a geometric pattern colored in orange, with grey and black shadings. Unlike the aforementioned BE@RBRICK, this piece is emblazoned all over with bold graphics, featuring a special word that nods to the punk-inflected roots of UNDERCOVER. As a finishing touch, “UNDERCOVER” and “JUN TAKAHASHI” branding is placed across the eyes, rounding out the collectible designs.
The UNDERCOVER x Medicom Toy BE@RBRICK will be available on November 22 at undercoverism.com — $110 USD for the red one and $147 USD for the patterned.
