Ta-ku & Matt McWaters Come Together as Please Wait & Share "Flight 99" Feat. Masego
The collaborative duo’s first single off their forthcoming ‘Black & White’ EP.
Australian beatsmith Ta-ku has returned alongside Canadian artist Matt McWaters to announce a brand new collaborative project entitled Please Wait. The two have further crafted the forthcoming Black & White EP, to be released by the Aussie and his joint label venture with Jakarta Records, 823. To commemorate the announcement, the duo has linked up with soulful R&B powerhouse Masego for a brand new track, “Flight 99.”
Please Wait remains a “culmination of numerous online exchanges and years of sharing voice memos, stems, musical ideas, and TikTok links between the two artists. As is evidenced by “Flight 99,” the soul-stirring sound the two have drawn out is filled with a hip-hop centric bedrock, splashed with jazz rhythms, downtempo electronic loops, and more. Masego lends his crooning vocals to the vivid instrumental, creating a minimalistic-yet-emotional interplay between the three artists.
