MoRuf Takes a Trip Down "Canal Street" In New Visual
A standout from his recent ‘S19’ EP.
Irvington, New Jersey artist MoRuf is nothing short of a musical anomaly. Since releasing his debut project Shades of Moo back in 2014, the artist has worked alongside the likes of SZA, Grammy-nominated producer MeLo-X, Iman Omari, and more. Coming off the release of his recent S19 EP, the off-kilter artist has now released a video for standout single “Canal Street.”
Throughout the new single, MoRuf manages to infuse an eclectic take on Detroit house, splattering the instrumental bedrock with rigorous east coast rap bars. In the Adam Saewitz-directed visual, he highlights his connection with New York’s Canal Street, from his interaction with street vendors to hitting A$AP Eva’s jewelry shop, and more. This is intercut with animated clips of him and his posse vibing and is filled with his characteristically-comedic vibes throughout.
You can watch the video for “Canal Street.” MoRuf is currently gearing up for the release of his Moolodic collaborative project alongside MeLo-X — fans can expect the project to arrive next year.
