Drake Connects with Kevin O Chris for Official Remix of "Ela É Do Tipo"
The OVO superstar tries his hand at baile funk.
This past spring, popular Brazilian artist Kevin O Chris saw a great deal of success with the release of his “Ela É Do Tipo” single. Now, after racking up over 15 million views on the May video for the aforementioned track, Kevin O Chris is crossing borders and musical boundaries, teaming up with Drake for the official remix of “Ela É Do Tipo”
This new rework of ” “Ela É Do Tipo” comes at a fitting time for Drake, as the OVO superstar is only two months removed from his very first live performance in Brazil, having delivered a set at this year’s Rock In Rio festival. Notably, the initial solo rendition of “Ela É Do Tipo” has already picked up over 80 million streams, so expect this November revamp to bring the record and its original creator an entirely new degree of success and attention. Drake isn’t the only North American rapper who sees the potential of Brazil’s baile funk music, either; in recent months, Future, 2 Chainz and French Montana have all appeared on remixes of well-known songs from the genre’s biggest exporters, with Future hopping on MC Fioti’s “Bum Bum Tam Tam” and the latter duo appearing on MC Kevinho’s “Olha a Explosão.”

Earlier this year, Drake earned his very first diamond single thanks to his Scorpion single “God’s Plan.”
