After amicably parting ways with longtime sponsor Palace and teasing the reintroduction of his Thames London label as the freshly-monikered THAMES MMXX, British skater/model/artist Blondey McCoy has readied his new line’s first drop.
Dubbed “Boarders” and inspired by his old school uniform, the collection does prep-meets-street in an artful fashion with bold graphic tees, cozy hoodies, and knee-high socks. However, the standout piece is unquestionably the knit sweater, featuring red trim on the collar/cuffs and a large embroidered Thames crown logo. It’s also embellished further with nine merit badge-shaped pins, which range from cheeky quips to much more brash statements, running the expansive gamut of McCoy’s signature tongue-in-cheek humor.
When announcing the debut of THAMES MMXX, McCoy also stated that it would serve as his new board sponsor. Therefore, there’s also special decks embellished with the same graphics as select T-shirts in the collection, and grip tape with a detailed print of London’s classical architecture. The lookbook is shot by famed British photographer Alasdair McLellan — a frequent co-conspirator who worked with the young creative on a retrospective photobook this summer — and styled by Ellie Grace Cumming. You can expect this first effort from the revitalized brand to hit THAMESMMXX.com on Monday, October 7th at 11am London time, which translates to 6 a.m. EST.
