ROKIT and DC Shoes have teamed up to design an updated version of DC’s classic Williams OG silhouette. The Williams OG’s form factor falls somewhere between a basketball and skateboarding shoe, lending it to be the ideal model for ROKIT, a brand rooted in both sports, to reimagine. Designer Rion Barcena’s goal with the collaboration was to stay true to DC’s iconic skate aesthetic while mixing in inspiration from NBA legends and modern sportswear.

A variety of updated design details were added to the nearly 20-year-old model, including an inner boot made from scuba material that helps lock in the wearer’s foot during gameplay. A snowboard boot lace complete with a toggle further secures the foot, while a hologram logo on the side provides some added flair. A translucent sole and ROKIT branding on the lace-loops round complete the shoe. Instead of outfitting the shoe in its signature orange hue, ROKIT opted for two more classic colorways; all black and blue, black and white.

This collaboration is part of DC Shoes’ DC Reserve initiative, where the brand will be dropping some its heritage ’90s silhouettes and quickstrike styles, along with various future collaborations. The ROKIT x DC Shoes Williams will be available through an early release October 4 exclusively through the NTWRK mobile app. The shoe will then see a global release On October 5 exclusively through Commonwealth, UBIQ and DC Shoes’ website.

Elsewhere in footwear, Matthew M. Williams and Nike have dropped a limited edition camo Free TR 3.
