UPDATE (October 24, 2019): Over the course of two hours, Kanye West spoke to Beats 1 personality and host Zane Lowe about his forthcoming album, his newfound devotion to Christianity, the studio sessions that birthed Jesus Is King, Drake and more. Ye also shared his plans to deliver a new “Sunday Service” project titled Jesus Is Born on Christmas Day 2019 (December 25).

“Sunday Service album, Jesus Is Born [is coming on] Christmas,” Kanye reveals. “It’s coming.”

Elsewhere in the sit-down, Kanye addressed numerous conflicts, ideas, and projects he’s been working on.

On Drake:
“Me and Drake had the disagreement and he refused to talk to me for six months. That was so painful,” Kanye tells Lowe. “You cannot be in service to God and be mad at your brother next door … I go to Drake’s house with no security and just leave my phone number.”

Kanye also used his latest major interview to proclaim himself to be “the greatest human artist of all time.”

“God is funny. Drake lives four blocks down the street from me. So that shows you that God has a sense of humor. Now, liberals love art, right?” Kanye West shares with Lowe. “And now—I am unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time. It’s not even a question at this point. It’s just a fact. For the greatest artist in human existence to put a red hat on was God’s practical joke to all liberals. Like, nooo, not Kanye!”

On becoming president:
With that sort of confidence driving him, it should come as no surprise that Kanye is pretty certain about becoming President of the United States as well. “There will be a time when I will be President of the U.S. and I will remember… any founder that didn’t have the capacity to understand culturally what we’re doing,” he says.

On Bernard Arnault:
Kanye professed his respect for LVMH chief Bernard Arnault and puts the billionaire as the second person living he looks up to the most. The first is his dad. West professes how Arnault’s “taste” is uncanny as he was able to turn Louis Vuitton from just a “bag” brand to a luxury powerhouse that shifted the way people perceived and purchased Louis Vuitton. West also details how a deal between him and Arnault turned south but it happened for a reason and that West’s destiny wasn’t supposed to be “working” for Arnault and LV but his real calling was to work for God.

On Virgil Abloh/Louis Vuitton
West admits that he felt a certain way when it wasn’t him chosen to lead Louis Vuitton by Arnault, rather it was Virgil Abloh who was chosen. The YEEZY creative claims that, “It was supposed to be me. I was the Louis Vuitton Don.” Regardless of the choice, Kanye feels that Arnault choosing Abloh was still essentially him being part of this great cultural shift that was happening.

On YEEZY design:
Kanye West stated in the interview that he will bring YEEZY production to the U.S. “For me, as a founder, it’s really important to bring these jobs back to America,” Kanye told Zane. ‘Ye also announced that production of YEEZY in the U.S. could happen within two years.

ORIGINAL STORY (October 23, 2019): With the release of his highly-anticipated album Jesus Is King only a few days away, Kanye West will be sitting down with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe for a special Beats 1 interview on October 24.

While the talking points of the interview remain under wraps, West and Lowe are expected to “cover everything,” possibly ranging from the creation and delay of Jesus Is King to the album’s accompanying IMAX film, the rapper’s new-found faith, YEEZY and his family life.

Jesus Is King has seen an almost one-month delay; wife Kim Kardashian originally announced a release date for September 27 before pushing it back to September 29. As the album became a no-show during the second date, sources began to claim that the project was “delayed indefinitely” due to West’s constant tweaking. A trailer and tickets for the accompanying IMAX film were released to the public a few weeks later, quickly followed by Sunday Service attendees claiming ‘Ye himself had set a new date at a listening party in DC. West, for the first time, formally and publicly confirmed Jesus Is King’s release date about a week later, reaffirming its release on October 25 with the announcement of the Beats 1 interview.

Listen to Beats 1 On Apple Music at these times for the Kanye West Interview: 9 AM PST, 12PM EST, 5 PM UK.

Elsewhere in music, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” is now the fastest-selling diamond single in history.
