Major Lazer & Khalid Unite for 'Death Stranding'-Inspired Single "Trigger"
The official ‘Death Stranding’ soundtrack is on the way.
One month after teaming up with J Balvin and El Alfa for “Que Calor,” Major Lazer links up with Khalid for a new single in support of the official soundtrack for Hideo Kojima’s upcoming Playstation 4 video game Death Stranding. Besides the Major Lazer- and Khalid-created opener, the eight-song Death Stranding soundtrack will also features new records from The Neighbourhood, CHVRCHES, Alan Walker, flora Cash, Bring Me the Horizon, MISSIO and more.
“I’d rather work with somebody amazing that’s unproven than be a sit-at-home producer and just wait for my manager to set up a session with a big artist. Sometimes you might have to do more work, because they may not be ready, but I don’t care,” Major Lazer producer Diplo previously told Esquire, sharing his thoughts on collaborating with other artists. “I’ve done pop songs with big people. I know the value of that … But I’d rather make classics—I mean, how many freakin’ pop songs came out last year that you remember? Or like, hip-hop tracks that were big for like two weeks? I’m trying to cultivate records that I can play, as a DJ, for years to come.”
