DaBaby Throws a Wild Party for New "Vibez" Video
A highlight of his recent ‘Kirk’ LP.
Last month, DaBaby continued his ascent by debuting his second major studio project of 2019, Kirk. Made up of 13 tracks, DaBaby’s Kirk LP found him reaching out to Migos, Gucci Mane, Kevin Gates, Chance the Rapper, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and more for assistance and served as the full-length follow-up to this past spring’s Baby on Baby project. Now, with Kirk dominating the charts, the Charlotte superstar is continuing to support and promote the album by sharing a new music video for one of its early highlights, “Vibez.”
Like many of DaBaby’s past visuals, today’s video for “Vibez” was brought to life by directorial powerhouse @ReelGoats. The clip for the JetsonMade-produced cut comes to us following September’s vignette for J. Cole, DaBaby and Lute’s “Under the Sun” collaboration.
“I just stayed consistent and kept being creative. I was never scared to just jump in there and try something new,” DaBaby told us earlier this year, opening up about his approach to music and videos for a March 2019 edition of our Conversations With series. “I ain’t afraid to be creative. Ni**as will sit around, play around and joke around all day but feel like as soon as the camera comes on they got to be the toughest ni**a in the world.”
“We just work hard so when we have fun, we have fun,” DaBaby added, opening up about his hitmaking abilities. “When you find a way to have fun, while you’re working, and it works for the supporters, it works for the people that’s viewing your shit, they like it — it’s different. Why would you shy away from it?”
