After first look images emerged recently, London-based label Aries and New Balance have now given an official look at their upcoming collaboration. The focal point of the joint release is the footwear, with two new takes on the Made in England 991 sneaker releasing alongside an apparel capsule.
For this collection, Aries has taken inspiration from the crossover between sportswear and fashion in Britain and how this shaped fashion in the country. The first colorway of the 991 features tonal silver detailing as well as hits of orange on its sockliner and outsole. For the second sneaker, Aries has dressed the sneaker in an eye-catching fluorescent yellow colorway. Both sneakers are constructed from a combination of suede, mesh and pearlised leather.
The sneakers will release alongside a collection of apparel spanning sweatshirts, long and short sleeve tees, sweat pants and socks. “Unbalanced” branding runs throughout this capsule, which Aries’ creative director Sofia Prantera chose because it “seemed to fit perfectly as an Aries graphic but also as a slogan to promote inclusivity and unpredictability and the way sportswear is evolving as the new uniform for everyday life.”
Take an official look at the sneaker in the gallery above, and you can exclusively watch the Aries x New Balance film created in collaboration with David Sims below. The collection will release at a London pop-up on October 25, before hitting select stockists such as Goodhood, Bodega and Slam Jam on October 29.
In other footwear news, New Balance has also recently worked with END. on the 878.
