kolor Launches Limited Run of Asymmetric Sportswear
Experiments in color & pattern.
kolor‘s Junichi Abe, husband to sacai‘s Chitose Abe, has displayed a penchant for toying with sportswear convention via his continuing adidas collaborations. kolor’s upcoming release, however, is a mainline production, with textiles exclusively designed in-house. The end product is a brief capsule of sporty coats, jackets and trousers, sporting asymmetric hems, colors, patterns and closures. The puzzle-like designs required a great deal of work to assemble — one coat alone demands 85 different panels.
The collection releases on January 25 at six different Japanese stores, before launching at a special installation at Dover Street Market Ginza on February 1.
