Helmut Lang Launches New Denim Line, Helmut Lang Jeans

A new focus for the label.

Establishing her first project after stepping in as the new Editor-in-Residence at Helmut Lang, Alix Browne and the storied label recently announced their new denim line, Helmut Lang Jeans. The first installment will be a capsule collection dubbed “Under Construction,” which establishes the straight, bootcut, drainpipe cuts, as well as the trucker jacket denim archetypes that will stand as the focus for Helmut Lang’s jeans program.

Serving as the innagural release, the range expresses the aforementioned silhouettes as works in progress. Available in vachetta tan leather, Italian denim and custom Japanese selvage, each piece is crafted with intentionally rough edges, unfinished and naturally flawed to present the idea of a blank prototype. “Under Construction” will also introduce Helmut Lang Jeans’ new fit proposition, which sees all styles equally cut for women and men and listed accordingly. Framing the launch is the “In Lang We Trust” hoodie and T-shirt release created in collaboration with artist/designer Brian Roettinger, and a series of Nocona cowboy boots hand-painted by artist Sarah Morris.

Check out the debut “Under Construction” capsule from Helmut Lang Jeans above and look for the range to be available at select retailers sometime in October.

For more contemporary fashion, KANGHYUK Fall/Winter 2018 “Collection 4” continues its investigation of synthetic materials.
