Instagram Could be Launching a Dedicated Shopping Platform

After expanding its shopping function to cover Stories, Instagram is reportedly set to launch a brand new app dedicated to shopping. According to rumors, the Facebook-owned platform is working on an application — believed to be called “IG Shopping” — that will allow users to brows and purchase goods from businesses they follow.
The new Instagram app is believed to be in the early stages of development, with no official announcement that it will even launch as of yet. Although, according to The Verge‘s source, Instagram is “well-positioned to make a major expansion into e-commerce.” Keep an eye out for more details about the new app in the near future.
