KANGHYUK FW18 "Collection 4" Continues Its Investigation of Synthetic Materials

Since launching his eponymous label in 2017, Korean designer Kanghyuk Choi and Sanglak Shon have carved out a niche in the fashion realm with his investigation of mass-produced synthetic materials.
Tokyo retailer GR8 recently put together an editorial spotlighting KANGHYUK‘s latest Fall/Winter 2018 release, “Collection 4.” The photo set places a lens on the industrial label’s emblazoned polyamide and nylon fabric car airbags, and contrast blue/red stitching used in the construction of the upcycled range. Expressing a raw, off-white aesthetic with a focus on functionality and mobility, each piece in the collection displays a study of paneling and precise design. Some notable pieces include the 250G Cropped Goose Down Parka with gloves, Airbag Windbreaker and Fake Fur Jumper.
Priced between ¥64,000 and ¥303,000 (approximately $575 and $2,723 USD), the KANGHYUK FW18 Collection 4 release is available now at select retailers like GR8.
