Madrid-Based Grimey Unveils FW24 Streetwear Collection
Bridging cultural identities in eight eclectic capsules.
For its Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Madrid-based label Grimey hones in on its expansive library of streetwear styles to animate the stories of global cultures.
Segmented into eight capsules, each cultural narrative lends to inspired graphics, motifs, and prints that bring synergy to the garments in the respective ranges. In one capsule titled “Follow the Dollar,” the label pays homage to the influence of New York hip-hop with puffers and hoodies dressed in a camo print. For “Deeper,” a Japanese-inspired capsule, tiger graphics come embroidered onto red and black leather bomber jackets, making for a must-have outerwear item this season.
One of the stand-outs in the offering is the “Land Back” capsule. In a statement of solidarity with Palestine, it interprets the traditional Keffiyah weave, using the design to decorate football jerseys and scarves. The popular football jersey also lands in the Irish-inspired “Saoirse” capsule, which features an alternative three-cats badge and seven stars, as well as wording in a newspaper-like typeface.
To supplement the bolder styles in the collection, a range of minimal black and white mid-layers are delivered through the ‘90s Britcore-inspired “Hijacker” capsule while the special edition SK8LAND x Grimey capsule, featuring vintage hoodies and baggy tops, brings the label back to its roots in Madrid’s skate scene.
