Snap revived its beleaguered Spectacles earlier this year with a new edition, the Spectacles 2. Perhaps in a bid to reverse a tumbling market share, the company is poised to roll out a duo of new Spectacles 2 silhouettes for the fall.
Dubbed “Nico” (a unisex wayfarer style) and “Veronica” (an oversized feminine model), the new frames aim to blend the quality of premium sunglasses with cutting-edge tech. Both are water resistant, equipped with hi-definition microphones, offer long-lasting batteries and boast enough storage space for hundreds of Snaps. Furthermore, the glasses boast a simple interface that easily transfers captured photos and video to linked Snapchat accounts or allows users to export Snaps in various formats for further editing. A new Snapchat feature coming later this year will further integrate the Spectacles into the app by curating Specs Snaps into a special Highlight Story.
The Nico and Veronica Spectacles 2 launch today in limited quantities via Spectacles.com. The initial rollout will be followed by a debut at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom later this year.
