Ariana Grande Takes #1 Spot as Travis Scott Falls on Billboard Charts
‘Sweetener’ is Grande’s third chart-topping album.

After knocking Drake from the top spot, Travis Scott himself has been dethroned. Ariana Grande‘s much-lauded Sweetener took over the top spot, marking Grande’s third #1 album release. The achievement is buoyed by a series of impressive records, including 231,000 units moved — beating out the initial 175,000 units of Grande’s Dangerous Woman — and the largest ever streaming week for a pop album by a woman, garnering 126.7 million streams in a single week. Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy still enjoys the biggest sales for a woman artist in 2018, but Grande’s record now holds a relatively close second place.
Scott, now at #2 still pulled in 110,000 units in Astroworld‘s second week and maintains second place. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj’s Queen has shifted to third.
Most recently, Grande performed at MTV’s VMA event.
