Sampha & Curtis Mayfield Star in the Everything Is Recorded "Close But Not Quite" Video
Sampha and XL Recordings head Richard Russell drop visuals for their Curtis Mayfield-sampling collab.
Earlier this month, acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Sampha cooked up his own take on Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky.” Now, the Process crooner returns via a new visual for his Everything Is Recorded collaboration “Close But Not Quite.” As previously reported, “Close But Not Quite” is built about a well-known Curtis Mayfield sample and stands as the lead single in support of XL Recordings founder/owner Richard Russell’s debut project as Everything is Recorded. Directed and produced by the Black Mountain Workshop crew, today’s visual puts the spotlight on the creative process behind “Close But Not Quite.”
