Yohji Yamamoto Reworks Dr. Martens 1490 Boot for FW18
Putting his stamp on the 10-hole boot.
After releasing a joint creeper for Spring/Summer 2018, Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto and Dr. Martens have reunited for a high-top 1490 collaboration. The 10-hole boot was originally unveiled at Paris Fashion Week back in January, and sees Yamamoto cover the boot in a black Temperley leather upper.
Other features of the shoe include ultra-fine yellow stitching on the collar, gold eyelet detailing and an embossed Yohji Yamamoto signature on the outer collar. Lastly, the collaborative boot also features Dr. Martens’ Cubeflex technology for the first time, giving the shoe the most flexible welted sole ever and a distinctive grid pattern. The boot is available now from the Dr. Martens web store.
This is Dr. Martens latest collaboration, following recent releases with Stüssy and Joy Division and New Order.
