Yohji Yamamoto & Dr Martens Debut Creepers for Spring/Summer 2018
Retro style, classic silhouette.
Japanese fashion lynchpin Yohji Yamamoto has long preferred Dr Martens footwear, sending models down the runway in the clunky shoes for years. For Spring/Summer 2018, the designer teams with the footwear label again, offering a twist on the “Ramsey” silhouette.
The “Ramsey” is often available with a solid sole — no heel — or with contrast-colored toe boxes. This iteration, like so much of Yamamoto’s footwear, is all-black and styled after traditional derbies, with normal eyelets and a heeled AIRWAIR sole. A gold eyelet offers subtle contrast, and the shoe is lined in leather to allow for proper molding to the wearer’s foot.
Launching at Yohji Yamamoto stores for ¥68,000 JPY (approximately $620 USD), check out the shoes in action at the designer’s Spring/Summer 2018 show below.
Meanwhile, the designer’s Y-3 collaboration with adidas recently unveiled Chapter 2 of its Spring/Summer 2018 Campaign.
