Ariel Pink & DâM-Funk Share The Funk in New Video for "Acting"
Weirdo-pop meets funk.
After using rare 45” vinyl from his own personal collection for the incredible “45 Glyde” HYPEBEAST Mix with us last month, DâM-Funk is back on his quest to keep the funk alive. Today, the seminal west coast funk prodigy joins weirdo pop-funk purveyor Ariel Pink on a new video for “Acting.” The song was arguably the best single off Pink’s recent eleventh studio album, Dedicated to Bobby Jameson, with the “At Least The Sky Is Blue” coming in at a close second.
Meanwhile, with help of long-time collaborator and director Eric Ernest Johnson, the visuals recapture some of the ornate scenery of Los Angeles dating back to the ’80s. And while the video was shot entirely in VHS, you’ll find it quite uniform with the funk elements of the song.
